Stroke Diagnosis – Now What?
On April 22, 2012, I suffered from a stroke. It was a near death experience. I was 63 years old and 100 pounds overweight – a ticking time bomb. I had high blood pressure, high cholesterol and Type 2 Diabetes. I was morbidly obese and endured diet-induced inflammation. I suffered from the perfect storm of metabolic syndrome.
Being paralyzed on my left side, including face disfigurement and slurred speech, I had to learn how to walk again, talk again, eat, swallow, cut my food, dress myself, tie my shoes, go to the bathroom, and even relearn to wipe my butt.
This is my story…
